This painting was created " plein air" in Cape Cod.
A little area called Morris Island. Beautiful day in late summer. A family was raising a white sail to sail for the day as I was painting the scene.

"Silver and Spring Blossoms"

Is spring ever going to arrive in Cincinnati? It is almost May and it is about 55 degrees outside. About 20 degrees below normal.
I just love the blossoms of a pear tree in bloom. I painted this as a demonstration before the class I teach at the Barn in Mariemont.
How do you like it? I welcome any comments. I am very excited about the recent news about this painting.
This painting was purchased by the newly built Bethesda Hospital New Breast Care Center.
It will be on exhibit for the new opening. There were only 8 purchase awards and I was one of the eight.
Another painting, " Let's Go Sailing" was chosen for the exhibit and will be included in the collection as well.
Please come to the opening this summer. Day and Time TBA.

It is so nice to be appreciated!!

Being appreciated is the nicest thing.
It makes such a difference. It is like getting a shot of happiness. It puts a little spring in your step. Just knowing that someone, anyone appreciates that you really do put your heart and soul into teaching, painting or whatever your passion is.
Recently, a parent of one of my students in my Teen Painting and Drawing Class, sent me a nice email of praise.

Hello Deborah,
I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with your art classes.  Katie absolutely loves your classes, and she said you are an excellent teacher!  I'm so happy we signed her up, and hopefully our other 4 daughters will be lucky enough to take a class with you in the future.
Thanks again,
Kim
